Welcome

Welcome to 21st Century Literacy Professional Development!

Formed in 2010, our company provides professional development for teachers at all grade levels and subject areas on site in your school. We have years of experience in teaching and providing professional development through consultancy with other organizations. If your priority is to improve teacher and student learning in your setting then we are the professional development company for you!

In addition we provide a members section where you can access a variety of curriculum documents, professional development and educational articles from across the world. We have worked in Australia, the United States, Canada and Scotland and are highly experienced in commencing work at a level tailored to suit your staff, students and schools individual needs!

What’s New?

The school year has kicked off in Victoria, Australia and we are proud to have formed partnerships with The Grange Secondary school in Hoppers Crossing, Melton South and Coburn Primary Schools in Melton!

We are alos conducting a series of workshops on ‘Developing Strategic Readers’ in the Western Metropolitan Region of Victoria’s Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.

The Professional Development section is loaded with a variety of resources for schools to plan various professional learning opportunities for teachers and will be added to regularly.

The Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening sections are progressively being filled with ready to download and print resources for teachers to use.

Educational Articles will be reviewed from the world’s leading newspapers, digests and organizations. These will be both serious  and light-hearted in nature and most importantly, will have direct benefit for educators seeking to improve their practice (or have a laugh!).

We must give a huge plug to the amazing Tery Udell, Grade 4 teacher from J.V.Forrestal Elementary school in Beacon, New York. Over a number of years Tery has encouraged students to be involved in the Arts – especially singing! On the 27th of July , folk musician and activist, 93 year old Pete Seeger, cut a new CD with her students. Entitled ‘Tomorrow’s Children’ it reeks of optimism and irresistibly urges one to join in- it would be a great purchase for the musically challenged teacher as a fun sing along with their class!

(Editors Note: This week, the 14th of February, Tery proudly contacted me to announce that her kids collaboration with Pete Seeger has won Best Children’s album at the Grammy awards.

Yes, that’s right, the GRAMMY awards!

Recommendations don’t come much higher so get yourselves a copy for your school!

Bouquets to Tery!
